From the deepest shadows comes a drink as rich and haunting as the Shadowfell itself.

šŸ„€ Recipe:

  • 2 oz Bourbon

  • 0.75 oz Blackberry Puree

  • 0.75 oz Lemon Juice

  • 0.5 oz Simple Syrup

  • Garnish: Black salt rim or some of that puree

Instructions: Shake with ice, strain into a coupe, and rim the glass with black salt for dramatic effect.

šŸ“œ Lore:

ā€œIt is said that to sip the Shadowfell Sour is to drink the memory of dusk itself.ā€

Brewed in whispered rituals by the Nightbinders of Morra'thal, the Shadowfell Sour is no mere tavern libation—it is a potion of controlled peril, brewed where the Veil grows thin. Its deep plum hue and silken foam shimmer faintly in torchlight, said to mirror the essence of the Shadowfell itself: beautiful, mournful, and deeply intoxicating.

Adventurers who dare the haunted lands of the Shadowfell often encounter a revenant alchemist named Veyra Dusktongue. She trades in secrets—and this drink. The recipe was gifted (or cursed) upon her by a forgotten shade in return for her final breath. The cocktail is a blend of tart blackberries, bitter wormwood extract, aged bourbon (or rye from a dying field), and a sour citrus kiss—usually lemon, though some call for preserved ghostfruit peel. It's often shaken with egg white or aquafaba to add a layer of soft mists on the surface, representing the eternal gloom of its namesake.

Some say sipping it lets you hear the faint whispers of your ancestors. Others say it steals a moment of your life to feed the drink’s hidden thirst. What’s certain: one Shadowfell Sour is enough. A second, and you may find yourself answering a voice that was never really there.
